CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE SOCIOCULTURAL HISTORY OF HEALTH AND ILLNESS TO STUDIES OF AUDIENCES AND RECEPTION OF HEALTH COMMUNICATION. A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Abstract

At the beginning of this century, UNAM created the Seminar on the Social and Cultural History of Health and Disease in Mexico, a space in which researchers have carried out multiple historiographical studies on the phenomenon of health and disease from its social and cultural practices. Based on a review of the literature, this article would have to identify the works related to health communication campaigns, emphasizing those that have aspects linked to the reception of these initiatives, with the purpose of characterizing the way in which these Communication and health actions of the 20th century influenced the conduct of society, through time, it has acquired characteristics that not only arrive, give what they have and vanish, but also remain and evolve according to the essence and context of those who adopt them.
