The aim of this article is comparing two historiographic approaches that lead to the writing of Global History: Transnational History and Transimperial History, as an invitation for the reader to explore them. In this text it is assumed that each of these historiographies attend specific interests. On one side, Transnational History revolves around the notions of modernity and state-nation; while Transimperial History has been exposed as an alternative to attend problems situated in the early-modern period, which escape the concept of state-nation.
