This article explores how cultural factors in Latin America, shaped by historical legacies and contemporary expressions, legitimize and perpetuate sexual violence against girls and adolescents. Through a systematic literature review, it assesses the current state of knowledge about sexual offenders from a cultural perspective, identifying developed thematic lines (patriarchy, gender roles, rape culture, historical influences) and pending gaps (specific contexts, internalization of norms). Findings reveal how colonial history, dictatorships, and modern media dynamics reinforce structures that normalize these behaviors, while the lack of local studies hinders preventive strategies. Interdisciplinary research lines are proposed to address these gaps and transform underlying cultural dynamics.
