The study of the capital journalistic discourses around the celebration of the Battle of Puebla between 1868-1909 noted that this historic date was used for the creation of an imagined national community, used as a symbolic cultural complement for the reforms undertaken by the political g group which held state control, and the Porfirio Díaz government’s legitimacy. In 1900, the poblana press challenges the traditional way to celebrate this heroic date and achieves the inclusion of other heroes, military facts and soldiers of this military combat.
